Vaginal Prolapse and No Regrets – Lorraine’s Hysterectomy Story

My hysterectomy was performed on 18.11.13. I had a vaginal procedure with anterior vaginal prolapse repair. Firstly I would like to say that the hysterectomy association was amazing. I was absolutely petrified beforehand and with all the information and emails I received all my apprehension and nerves were gone. It was great to hear stories from real people who have been through it and that helped immensely.

After my op I can honestly say I feel amazing. I’ve had no pain, no discomfort. I am 4 weeks post op now and I can honestly say I don’t feel any different all. The only symptoms I’ve encountered is a bit if trouble sleeping and slight constipation. But I was expecting to feel a lot worse. Plenty of walking lots of fruit and veg and I’m on my way to full recovery. No regrets whatsoever.
