Is the menopause genetic – new research says ‘Yes’

It has long been a theory that the age at which a woman’s mother experienced the menopause, is a good indicator of when she might go through it herself. This theory is now being researched in the UK and the results are indicating that there is a good genetic influence at work and that a ‘normal menopause’ can take place anytime between the ages of 40 and 60.
