Researchers have suggested that 500 IU of Vitamin E twice a day may help to reduce the severity of period pains, the duration of the pain and the amount of blood loss.
The research was undertaken on 278 girls aged between 15 and 17. After four months of treatment a significant reduction in symptoms was experienced particularly in pain, cut from 17 hours of pain (in the control group) to just 1.6.
